Climbing Mount Kenya

Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest mountain, is an incredible adventure for hikers and nature lovers looking for more than just a traditional safari. Unlike Mount Kilimanjaro, it offers multiple scenic routes like Sirimon, Chogoria, and Naro Moru, with opportunities to spot rare wildlife, alpine lakes, and even glaciers. From August to October 2025, dry trails and stable weather make it the ideal season to summit Point Lenana, even for beginner trekkers.

Routes to the Summit

1. Sirimon Route

Popular for its gentler incline and scenic alpine views. Great for acclimatization and often used for descent.

2. Naro Moru Route

The shortest and most direct path. However, it’s steeper and more challenging, especially the “Vertical Bog” section.

3. Chogoria Route

Regarded as the most beautiful trail, passing through waterfalls, lakes, and bamboo forests. Often combined with Sirimon for a balanced trek.
